Alisha was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June 2024. She spent months going through chemotherapy, bone marrow shots, and eventually a whole hysterectomy. Her young adult son moved back home to help care for her and his two teenage siblings.

In June 2025, Alisha was told her cancer was back. Until then, she was working full-time and looking forward to camping and fishing with her kids. Now, all of those plans are on hold. Cancer has interfered – again. Now, she can only work part-time because she spends hours in treatment and traveling to treatment. Her customer service job is taxing as she, like so many, has first-hand experience with chemo-brain being a real thing.

She is determined to beat this cancer one day. She wants to get back to work and provide for her family and spend quality time with her kids. Her optimism is noticeable when she says, “I would love to live in the country with a big garden and room for my kids to run. Some day. Some day. Some day.”
